Peri Peri Rub Candied Pecans

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup light brown sugar

2 tablespoons ‘Rub with Love’ African Peri Peri Rub (use more or less depending on how spicy you want them)

1 teaspoon salt

1 large egg white

1 teaspoon water

1 pound pecan halves


These sweet and spicy candied pecans have a little kick from the ‘Rub with Love’ African Peri Peri Rub and are perfect in a salad or just to snack on.

-Preheat the oven to 300 degrees°F

-Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

-Mix both sugars, African Peri Peri Rub, and salt together in a bowl

-In a separate bowl combine egg white and water, and beat with a whisk until stiff peaks form.

-Add pecans to egg whites and gently stir to coat

-Add sugar/spice mix to bowl and gently mix until evenly coated. The egg whites will keep the spice and sugar on the nuts as they bake.

-Bake for 30-40 minutes stirring every 15 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely.
