Note: You will need disposable latex gloves for this recipe.


¼ C popcorn kernels

Vegetable oil as needed

¾ C corn nuts

1 C candied nuts

4 oz butter

¾ C sugar

¾ C brown sugar

1/3 C corn syrup

½ Tsp baking soda

1 Tbsp ‘Rub with Love’ African Peri Peri Rub

1 Tsp salt

1 Landjaeger sausage stick, thinly sliced



  1. Pop the popcorn using your favorite method.
  2. Empty popcorn into a large bowl and toss with a light drizzle of vegetable oil. Check for unpopped kernels, and remove. Add corn nuts and candied nuts and mix.
  3. Put butter, sugar, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a saucepan and cook on stove on medium-high heat until temperature reads 298°F on a candy thermometer. Don’t stir once the mixture has reached boiling.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in the baking soda, African Peri Peri Rub and salt.
  5. Pour caramel over popcorn and fold together quickly with a buttered spatula.
  6. Spread popcorn out on an oiled silpat and Glove UP! It helps to oil your gloves too. Break up large clumps of popcorn into smaller pieces. Let cool.
  7. Add thinly sliced Landjaeger. Enjoy!
